About Chanpatia

Chanpatia is town and a notified area in Paschim Champaran district of Bihar.  Chanpatia comes under Tirhut Division. It is located 18km towards the north to the district headquarters Bettiah. It coordinates are 26.94N and 84.55E. It lies 80 metres above the sea level. Being part of Champaran it saw the famous Champaran movement launched by Mahatama Gandhi.

Maithili, Hindi and Urde are the languages spoken frequently by the people. Agriculture being the chief occupation of the people in Chanpatia, the chief crops grown are sugarcane, wheat and rice.
